NaTHNaC Swine Flu Update 17
( Last Updated: 03-08-2009 )
NaTHNaC's latest update on the Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 Influenza was issued on 28th July 2009. It lists twenty two countries that have now reported over 1,000 confirmed cases of swine flu. It goes on to say that the age specific reporting rates are highest for teenagers and those in the twenties though this is expected to rise as the virus spreads.
Swine flu remains a mild respiratory illness that only causes complications in a very few number of cases where there are normally othermedical issues.
NaTHNaC has also updated its advice for travellers, which starts by making the point that there are no travel restrictions to any country as a result of the swine flu pandemic. The report goes on to say that the World Health Organisation, which is coordinating policy across the world for managing the virus, does not recommend closure of borders nor does it recommend travel restrictions.
Year Out Group's member organisations continue to operate as normal. You can read Year Out Group's advice on swine flu in the planning section of the website.
